Many people use their summer cottages as a place to store unused things that they don’t want to throw away.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, designer Yulia Tychino, listed useless items that can easily destroy home comfort.

Car tires

A set of car tires can be stored until next season in a garage or storage room. Unneeded tires are better taken to a recycling center than used to "decorate" the area.

Old furniture

Don't think that furniture that is not needed in a city apartment will look good in a country house, especially if the piece of furniture is broken. Don't know how to use tools and haven't heard anything about restoration? Then take your wardrobes and sofas to the dump.

Carpets

Let's think about it from a practical point of view. If you use large natural wool carpets as a decorative element on the walls of an unheated dacha, be prepared for them to become breeding grounds for mold, bacteria and fungi. The only possible option in such conditions is a small synthetic carpet that is easy to care for. It can even be laid on an open terrace.

Pillows and blankets

Admit it, do you have feather pillows and wadded blankets at your dacha? They should not be stored here for the same reason as carpets. Over time, bedding becomes damp and starts to smell musty. Replace them with pillows and blankets with synthetic fillers.

Building materials

After renovations in the apartment, it has become a good tradition to send unused materials to the dacha. But do not forget that they have an expiration date, and when it expires, the building materials will become unusable. If your goal is not to turn the dacha into a construction site, find a use for the materials. In extreme cases, give them to neighbors or make garden decor.
