Any cook may face the need to add… an apple to soup.

We are talking about the case when the dish turns out to be oversalted.

Have you realized that the soup you made has too much salt?

Then try to save the dish not with potatoes, but with a sweet and sour fruit: it turns out that the second approach is more effective.

Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking for the online publication Belnovosti, a chef and fourth-class baker, told about this unusual trick.

How to Save Oversalted Soup with an Apple

Place the pan with the oversalted dish on the stove and turn on the burner.

As soon as the soup comes to a boil, throw one cut apple into the container.

Reduce heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes.

Once the time is up, turn off the burner and immediately remove the halves of the sweet and sour fruit with a slotted spoon.

While in boiling soup, the apple will “absorb” excess salt.

As a result, the soup will acquire a normal taste and will become completely suitable for consumption.

Important point: you can use the “apple” method to save oversalted soup only if the dish does not contain a dairy component.
