Salads and dishes with mayonnaise are certainly tasty, filling and very high in calories.

But excess fat has never done anyone any good, and given the abundance of food during the holidays, you can't help but think about how to reduce the amount of fat.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to replace the popular sauce.

All these sauces will not worsen the taste of a salad or other dish, but will make it less caloric.

An excellent substitute for mayonnaise and can be used as a base for sauces or as a stand-alone dressing.

Pairs well with spices, mustard, herbs, and fresh cucumber.

Olive oil

It can be mixed with lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, mustard (including grain), aromatic herbs or garlic.

Avocado

Mash the avocado until it's creamy, but you'll need a ripe avocado to make the dressing.

Next, you need to add lemon or lime juice to the base to preserve the color.

Additional ingredients include olive oil, fresh herbs, Dijon mustard, salt or nuts.

You can also use chickpea puree, tahini, aioli sauce, and even regular sour cream as salad dressings.

For reference

Mayonnaise is a sauce made from vegetable oil, egg yolk, mustard, vinegar (or lemon juice), salt and sugar.
