Cooking beets is usually a very long process.

It takes at least 40 minutes to cook the root vegetable to readiness using the standard method.

But more often than not, the culinary procedure drags on, ultimately taking 50-60 minutes.

However, you probably have a device in your home that will speed up the process of cooking beets by 3-4 times.

According to the expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, cook, fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova, we are talking about a multicooker.

How to cook beets in a multicooker

To cook the root vegetable using this device, you don’t need water.

Just pour a little vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl and throw the chopped beets into the container.

Select the "Bake" mode and set 15 minutes.

This time is enough to bring the peeled and chopped root vegetable to full readiness.

The most interesting thing is that when cooked in a multicooker, chopped beets retain their rich color, bright taste, and health benefits.

But you shouldn't cut the root vegetable before cooking it in a saucepan. Yes, this approach will also speed up the cooking of the vegetable. And you won't need a multicooker. But you should remember the following: when in boiling water, beetroot pieces lose their brightness, become tasteless and "watery".

If you still need to cook whole beets, then put them into the multicooker bowl unpeeled, fill with water, set the “Bake” mode and cook for 35 minutes.

What to do if you don’t have a multicooker

You can also cook the root vegetable in a microwave oven: the vegetable will become soft in just 10-12 minutes.
