On the eve of the upcoming New Year holidays, people are buying food in large quantities, the lion's share of which is fish.
It’s understandable: what kind of celebration would it be without this tasty and nutritious gift of nature?
However, when it comes to cleaning, a “game of nerves” begins: working with a knife takes a lot of time, requires a certain amount of skill and specific efforts.
And if we have a fish with small, prickly scales in front of us, the process turns into a real punishment.
But there is a simple way to cope with the task in no time without a knife.
This method was shared by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova .
According to her, if we are talking about large and medium-sized fish (approximately 300-400 grams), then before cleaning it from scales it should be doused with boiling water.
Then, without any tools, including a knife, we remove the scales with our hand or a sponge.
The scales come off easily. All we have to do is cook the fish according to the chosen recipe.
If we have a large amount of fish, we will need two pots.
One of them should have boiling water poured in. We will dip the fish there, holding it by the gills.
In the second pan there is cold water. After boiling the water, we put the fish in a pan with cold water.
Wash off the scales. That's all. Then you can calmly prepare the desired dish.
