Is it possible to store cereals in store packaging, or do they have to be poured into a container: there is only one correct answer

Not all housewives, having come home from the store with purchases, rush to pour the purchased cereals, pasta and flour into special containers - many leave the groceries to be stored in the store packaging.

We asked the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, whether this is acceptable.

According to the expert, you can do this – but only until you open the package.

After this, you simply won’t be able to ensure a tight seal, which ultimately leads to the products becoming saturated with moisture and foreign odors.

There is another reason why it is recommended to use containers, and that is because of insects.

They sometimes get into the house along with cereals. It is almost impossible to detect them right away, and if you leave the package unsealed, then after a short time the parasites will appear in other supplies.

It would seem that a solution has been found: you can simply pour the cereal into a plastic bag, but you shouldn’t do this either, since such packaging will not prevent some bugs from getting inside.

This is why cloth and paper bags are not suitable for storing bulk products.

There is only one solution: choose a suitable container and store cereals in it.
