But don’t rush to throw away the leftovers: expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova shared a simple life hack that will help bring the puree back to life.

To make yesterday's mashed potatoes as good as freshly made ones, you will need a saucepan or frying pan.

Pour some milk into a bowl and bring it to a boil – this ingredient will restore the potatoes’ lost tenderness and make them creamy again.

As soon as the milk boils, add the cold mashed potatoes into it.

Turn the stove to low to ensure the side dish heats evenly, and be sure to cover the puree with a lid.

You will have to heat the dish for about 3 minutes - this time is enough for the puree to warm up, but not dry out.

After the specified time has elapsed, remove the pot or pan from the heat and stir the contents thoroughly.

To improve the taste of the puree, add a little butter to it.

This life hack will allow you to enjoy your favorite food even the next day after it was prepared.
