Modern housewives love to improve old recipes and even some innovations are introduced into the pancake recipe.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-category baker told how to prepare pancake dough according to the Soviet GOST.
You will need:
- flour 400 g;
- sugar 30 g;
- vegetable oil 20 ml;
- eggs 3 pcs;
- milk 1 l;
- salt 5 gr.
How to cook
1. First, beat the eggs and sugar with a mixer.
As you can see, you don't need to add either soda or baking powder to the dough. The pancakes turn out fluffy precisely because the eggs are well beaten.
2. Once you have a fluffy egg mixture, pour in the milk (water) and add half of the flour.
3. Stir the dough until all the lumps are dissolved and only then can you add the remaining flour.
4. When you get the dough of the desired consistency, continue to beat it for another 2-3 minutes, and then let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
5. Heat the pan well, grease it with oil and bake the pancakes as usual.
Soviet-style pancakes will not tear in the frying pan, and their thickness will not exceed 1.5-2 mm.
They can be stuffed with meat, potatoes with onions, cabbage, onions (rice) and eggs, mushrooms, liver, as well as cottage cheese and fruits. Enjoy your meal!
