Milk biscuits are a tasty and aromatic treat that many remember from childhood.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova shared a simple baking recipe that requires only available ingredients.
Here is a list of products with their exact weight. For 10 servings you will need:
- 400 g flour,
- 200 g sugar,
- 100 g margarine,
- 1 egg,
- 80 ml milk,
- 10 g baking powder,
- 0.2 g vanillin.
Wait until the butter, left at room temperature, becomes soft, then add sugar to it and beat with a mixer.
The remaining ingredients must be added to this mixture – egg, milk and baking powder, as well as vanillin or vanilla sugar.
Lastly, add flour to the bowl and then quickly knead into a soft dough.
Roll out the resulting dough into a layer - if you like crispier cookies, its thickness should be 6-7 mm. Those who prefer soft cookies can make the layer thicker.
Using a mold, squeeze out the biscuits and place them on a baking sheet, which should be placed in a preheated oven.
Cook the milk biscuits for about 15 minutes at 180-200 degrees. Take them out as soon as the top is slightly browned, because if you overcook the pastry, it will become hard.
