What tricks will prevent you from ruining a dish

1. If you are going to cook potato pancakes and you have the opportunity to choose, use yellow potatoes for the dish.

2. Adding onion to the potato mixture will prevent it from darkening. First, grate the onion, then mix the grated onion with the potatoes.

3. After you mix the two vegetables together, squeeze the pancake dough to get rid of excess moisture.

This action does not affect the darkening of the potatoes, but it will help you save on the amount of flour used.

4. Housewives also often add a small amount of sour cream to the mixture for making potato pancakes – about 2 tablespoons per half a kilogram of potatoes.
