The most difficult thing when making homemade sushi is to cook the rice to the right consistency and taste.
How to do this was explained by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova.
You will need 200 g of rice, which should be rinsed in cold water 6 times, after which you should drain as much water as possible.
Pour water over the cereal – for the specified amount of rice you need to take 210 ml of water. Let it soak for about 10 minutes.
After the specified time, cover the rice with foil and place a lid on top. Now the pan can be put on the fire.
Turn the flame to high and wait until the contents of the pan boil, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Turn off the stove and let the rice sit for another 10 minutes. The main thing is not to remove the lid.
This time can be used to prepare the dressing. For it, you need to mix 30 g of rice vinegar, 20 g of sugar and 2 g of salt. Heat the mixture on the stove, without bringing it to a boil, until the sugar and salt dissolve.
After 10 minutes, pour the dressing into the rice, stir and cover again to let it cool slightly.
