When preparing Olivier salad, there are always some inaccuracies that can result in the salad not being as perfect as we would like it to be.
Sometimes mistakes lie in the actions that we have been accustomed to doing for years, thinking that this is right.
Chef Yulia Arkhipova, an expert on culinary issues for the online publication BelNovosti, spoke about the shortcomings that should be avoided.
What shortcomings should you watch out for?
Using sausage
Many forget that the classic recipe does not include sausage. Professional chefs do not use this component either.
Using boiled poultry, meat or fish will make Olivier more balanced and tasty.
Excess of potatoes
If you add too much potato, the salad will be heavy and not very tasty. Therefore, add potatoes in small quantities.
But to make it more airy, you can add a little more egg white than required.
Salt
Some people think that salt in mayonnaise and cucumbers is enough to make the salad tasty. This is a misconception. The dish may turn out bland.
Therefore, at least a small amount of salt should be added.
