Although very healthy, pumpkin can be very difficult to peel due to its thick skin.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to cope with thick-skinned pumpkin.

How to proceed

1. Start by soaking the fruit before cooking.

You need to choose a container so that the water completely covers the pumpkin.

It should be soaked in cold water for at least 10 hours.

Then you need to pierce the pumpkin skin with a knife from different sides.

After this, you can cut the stubborn fruit into two parts, and then into quarters.

2. Very tough skin can be removed by heating it in the microwave.

Place the cut off part in the microwave for a couple of minutes and turn it on at full power.

If you don’t have a microwave, all you have to do is put the pumpkin in an oven preheated to 100 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.

But in the case of the oven, there is a risk of baking the pumpkin, which means that it cannot be used for all dishes, but it will not become less healthy or tasteless.

After heating, separating the pulp from the skin will become much easier and any housewife can handle this task.
