They don't crunch, they're hard and they stick to the waffle iron: why waffles may not turn out right

Waffles cooked in an electric waffle iron can be a great addition to breakfast, lunch or dinner.

True, sometimes housewives notice to their chagrin that the waffles do not turn out quite as they would like them to be.

Chef Yulia Arkhipova, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, spoke about the reasons and ways to solve this problem.

Why are waffles not crispy, hard and sticky?

When preparing waffle dough, do not get too carried away with kneading it: if the mass turns out too dense, the waffles will turn out hard and heavy.

Affects the final result and recipe: first, read the list of required ingredients. If it contains eggs and butter, the waffles will be more fried and crispy than those prepared without these products.

If your batter is low in fat, it is likely that your baked goods will stick to the surface of your waffle iron.

If you notice that the first "batch" is difficult to remove, add butter or vegetable oil to the dough. But it is not recommended to grease the surface of the electric waffle iron with it - it will be difficult to get rid of the resulting coating.

And finally: if you have already cooked the waffles, do not leave them on the plate. Store the finished baked goods on a rack so that they do not get damp and lose their crispiness.
