Nutritionists advise paying more attention to nuts and seeds, whole grains and other vegetables.
Quinoa is often recommended, but not many people know how to cook it and what to eat it with.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova - a cook, fourth-class baker told how to prepare a salad with quinoa.
You will need:
- quinoa 100 g;
- water 250 ml;
- cucumbers 200 g;
- tomatoes 200 g;
- bell pepper 100 g;
- onion (red) 50 g;
- garlic 1 clove;
- vegetable oil 2 tbsp;
- honey 1 tbsp;
- lemon juice 2 tbsp. l;
- salt, pepper and parsley to taste.
How to cook
1. Rinse the quinoa in cold water, add to boiling water and cook in salted water for 10 minutes under a lid, then remove from heat and let cool.
2. Mix the crushed garlic with vegetable oil, add lemon juice and honey, salt and pepper to taste.
3. Cut cucumbers, onions, tomatoes and peeled sweet peppers into cubes and chop the parsley.
4. Mix vegetables, herbs and quinoa in a salad bowl, pour over the dressing and stir.
Cool and serve as a side dish for meat or fish. Enjoy!
