The beauty of cabbage dishes is that they can be prepared all year round.
Expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, decided to share a unique recipe for one of these dishes. We are talking about stewed cabbage, for the preparation of which you will not need tomato paste or sour cream.
Instead, prepare the following ingredients:
- fresh cabbage – 500 g;
- champignons – 300 g;
- onion – 1 pc.;
- carrots – 1 pc.;
- broth or water – 50 ml;
- vegetable oil – 1 tbsp;
- salt – to taste.
For extra flavor and aroma, add one teaspoon of curry.
Chop the cabbage, mushrooms and onions, and use a grater with large holes to shred the carrots.
After that, fry the champignons in a frying pan with vegetable oil. As soon as they release juice, add onions and carrots to the pan.
The contents of the dish should be simmered over the fire for some time - your task is to make the vegetables soft.
When this happens, you can add cabbage to them. Don't hold back on spices either - add salt along with curry and fry all ingredients for 5-6 minutes.
After the specified time, pour the broth into the pan, cover it with a lid and simmer for another 15-20 minutes.
