Of course, food can be stored in the freezer much longer than in the refrigerator.

Despite the fact that in the freezer the products are reliably protected from spoilage, according to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, they cannot stay there forever.

If we talk about meat, its shelf life at a temperature of -18 degrees is about a year.

Red meat and fish will last the longest. Chicken or turkey with skin will spoil faster, after about 6 months.

Semi-finished products, such as vareniki or pelmeni, have an even shorter shelf life, which is no more than 4 months.

Prepared meals, including frozen cutlets, peppers, cabbage rolls, pizza and others, are not recommended to be stored in the freezer for longer than 3 months.

Fruits and vegetables can be stored in the freezer for as long as meat – about a year, and mushrooms – no longer than six months.

To be able to control the expiration date, put the date on the packaging using a marker, and information about the expiration dates of purchased semi-finished products can be found on the product label.
