How to Boil Potatoes Three Times Faster: They Will Be Tastier Than Usual

20.05.2024 08:50

Boiled potatoes can be called a universal side dish that goes well with meat, fish, chicken and vegetables. What's more, potatoes can be served with regular butter and will still be delicious.

The only downside is that the process of cooking potatoes takes quite a long time, which, as a rule, depends on the type of root crops. In this case, culinary secrets shared by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova, will come to the rescue - they allow you to reduce the time of cooking boiled potatoes almost three times.

To begin, try cutting the peeled and washed tubers into small cubes.

After this, the chopped potatoes should be poured with boiling water and put on the stove to cook.

When the water boils, add a little oil to the pan - you can use any kind, butter or vegetable oil (but butter will taste better), and also add salt to taste.

Thanks to the oil, a film is formed on the surface of the water, which will act as an additional cover.

As a result, the temperature in the pan will be slightly higher than with the usual method of cooking potatoes, which means that the contents of the pan will reach the state of readiness faster.

On low heat, the potatoes will be fully cooked in about ten minutes.
