Many coffee lovers believe that adding sugar is the only way to remove the bitterness from the invigorating drink.

However, don’t rush to add a few spoons of granulated sugar to your cup again.

It turns out there is another additive that can mask the bitter taste.

We are talking about a product that will cope with its task much better than sugar.

Oddly enough, we are talking about... table salt.

This unusual moment was noted by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti in the field of cooking, chef, fourth-class baker Yulia Arkhipova .

Why salt coffee

The thing is that salt not only helps to remove bitterness (or sourness), but also better reveals the pleasant coffee aroma.

At the same time, the drink will not seem salty at all. Unless, of course, you overdo it with the additive.

One pinch of salt is enough for a cup of coffee. This amount will be enough to neutralize the bitter taste and fully reveal new flavors.

But adding granulated sugar to a salted drink is not at all necessary. For such coffee, additional sweetness is no longer needed.

However, if you want to make the drink even sweeter, you can add a maximum of one teaspoon of sugar.
