Easter cake is a special pastry, the taste of which is familiar to everyone from childhood.
It would be nice to diversify the flavor palette a little not only with raisins, dried fruits and candied fruits, but also with natural flavors.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told what to add to the dough for Easter cake.
You will need:
- yeast - 40 g;
- sugar - 3/4 cup;
- butter - 125 g;
- eggs - 2 pcs.;
- milk - 1 glass;
- flour - 2.5-3 cups;
- lemon - 1 pc.
How to cook
1. Mix warm milk with sugar and yeast, add a little flour and leave the dough in a warm place.
2. Separately beat the eggs with sugar, add melted butter and mix.
3. Add the resulting mixture to the dough, then sift the flour.
4. Grate the lemon zest on a fine grater, add it to the dough and knead it until it stops sticking to your hands.
5. Leave the dough in a warm place for 2-2.5 hours, kneading it periodically.
6. Prepare the molds, lay out the dough, let stand and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius.
You can squeeze the juice from the remaining lemon and add it to the glaze for the cake.
