What could be simpler than cooking boiled eggs? However, even here some people make mistakes.
How to boil eggs so that they definitely don’t burst, and what can be added to the water, says Yulia Arkhipova, an expert in the field of cooking for the online publication Belnovosti, a cook and fourth-class baker.
Selecting and preparing eggs
The first and most important step in making boiled eggs is choosing the right eggs. Experienced cooks always recommend using fresh, high-quality eggs.
They have a bright yolk and a dense protein, which is important for maintaining their shape during the cooking process.
Another typical mistake many people make is to put eggs straight from the refrigerator into boiling water.
Due to temperature changes, there is a risk that they will simply burst. It is better to take them out of the refrigerator first to avoid this.
What to add to water
There is a very simple and effective way - add one teaspoon of salt to the water during cooking.
This method may seem pointless, but it has proven its effectiveness in practice for a reason. Thanks to the salt, it will definitely not burst during cooking.
How long to cook
Experienced chefs recommend the following cooking time: for medium-consistency eggs – about 7 minutes, for hard-consistency eggs (fully cooked) – about 10 minutes. You should definitely not overcook eggs, because in this case they can lose their consistency and taste.
How to cool and clean properly
After boiling eggs, it is recommended to immediately put them in cold water or even under a cold shower. This will help stop the boiling process and speed up the cooling of the eggs, which will make it easier to peel them.
However, if you need to store the eggs for several days after boiling, it is better not to remove the shell. You should not add other ingredients during boiling, as they can affect the taste and structure of the eggs. You can experiment with serving, but definitely not with boiling.
