The first day of Maslenitsa week has arrived, which means you can celebrate this event with pancakes.
You can prepare this simple and filling dish even if you don't have any milk or eggs in the fridge. You'll get literally vegetarian or Lenten pancakes.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to make pancakes without milk and eggs.
You will need:
- flour - 2 cups;
- carbonated water - 2.5 glasses;
- sugar - 2 tbsp;
- salt - 1 tsp;
- vegetable oil.
How to cook
1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar and salt.
2. Then heat up the sparkling or mineral water and pour it into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
3. Mix everything with a whisk, mixer or blender until smooth.
4. That's all. Heat up the frying pan, grease it with vegetable oil and bake the pancakes as usual.
