Frying dumplings is not difficult at all, and if you think otherwise, you probably did something wrong during the cooking process.
Yulia Arkhipova , an expert of the online publication BelNovosti and a chef, spoke about the most common mistakes that housewives make when frying dumplings.
Defrosting dumplings before cooking
Many people mistakenly believe that dumplings need to be defrosted first.
In fact, it’s better to take them out of the freezer 10-15 minutes before cooking – during this time they will soften enough, but will not stick to the pan and as a result will fry evenly.
The frying pan and oil are too hot
Overheating the frying pan and oil is another common mistake when cooking pelmeni. If you put frozen pelmeni in a frying pan that is too hot, there will be no escape from the hot oil splashes.
Frying under a closed lid
When frying dumplings, it is not recommended to cover them with a lid, as this may cause condensation and water to get into the hot oil, which may lead to splashing.
In addition, under the lid the dumplings will not acquire a crispy crust and will turn out soft and tasteless.
Stir frequently
Also, do not stir the dumplings frequently while frying. This can damage the dough and prevent the formation of a golden crust. If you stir the dumplings frequently, they can turn into mush.
