Potatoes are the vegetable that is probably used most often in cooking. They can be fried, boiled, baked, etc.
But if you have been storing potato supplies for a long time, you should cook them in a special way, says Yulia Arkhipova, an expert at the online publication BelNovosti.
You can get a truly delicious side dish by adding one extra ingredient during cooking – and we’re not talking about salt.
To improve the taste of stale tubers, use plain white sugar.
Before you start cooking, wash the potatoes well – and it doesn’t matter if they’re already wrinkled.
Then pour cold water over it and let it stand for about an hour at room temperature – this will help make the tubers firmer.
After that, peel the potatoes and cut them into random pieces. Put them in a saucepan, fill them with water and put them on the fire.
When the water boils, add one teaspoon of sugar, half a teaspoon of lemon juice and salt to taste.
Stir gently and cook the potatoes until done over medium heat.
