Fried cutlets are a classic that will never go out of style. But what to do if there is too much salt in the minced meat during the cooking process?

There is no point in throwing away the blanks, so it is worth remembering several methods that will help neutralize it.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told what to do with oversalted minced meat.

Neutralizing salt with lemon juice

Lemon juice is a great way to neutralize excess salt. Squeeze a little juice onto the cutlets before serving. The lemon's acidity will help soften the excess salt and add freshness to the dish.

Adding fermented milk products

You can also add a small amount of low-fat dairy products to the cutlet mixture. Sour cream or unsweetened yogurt are ideal. This will dilute the saltiness and give the cutlets a delicate taste.

Increasing product volume

If you have enough time, you can prepare additional ingredients without salt and mix them with the oversalted ones. This will allow the salt to be distributed evenly throughout the dish.

Adding starch or mashed potatoes

Starch and mashed potatoes can absorb excess salt. Simply add a small amount of one of these ingredients to the patty mixture and mix thoroughly.

Using fresh vegetables

Adding fresh vegetables is a universal solution. You can add:

1) cucumbers;

2) greens and other vegetables.

This will help dilute the saltiness and give the cutlets a fresh aroma.
