Thanks to baking powder, cooking time is significantly reduced, and the chopped vegetable acquires a pleasant golden hue.
Another advantage of using baking soda when frying onions is that the risk of burning is significantly reduced, approaching zero.
Finally, the onion fried with soda turns out soft and tender, as well as tasty and aromatic.
It is important not to overdo it with the amount of soda, otherwise the effect will be the opposite. For a medium-sized onion, it is usually enough to add a pinch of soda to achieve the desired result.
