If you only have onions, potatoes and some cheese in the house, you can prepare a dish that will turn a snack into a festive dinner.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to bake potatoes with cheese and onions.
You will need:
- potatoes - 4-6 pcs.;
- onion - 1 pc.;
- salt and pepper to taste;
- butter - 3 tbsp;
- flour - 3 tbsp;
- milk - 2 glasses;
- cheese - 200 gr.
How to cook
1. Peel the potatoes and cut them and the onion into round or semi-circular slices, placing them on the bottom of a baking dish greased with vegetable oil.
2. Sprinkle the potatoes with pepper and salt, place onion rings on top and repeat the layers.
3. When finished, melt the butter, mix with flour and salt, heat for one minute and after the lumps have dissolved, pour in the milk.
4. Cook the sauce for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens, then add the grated cheese, stir and, when the cheese has melted, pour the sauce over the potatoes.
5. Cover the pan with foil and place in the oven for 1.5 hours, preheated to 200 degrees.
