You can cook liver very tasty if you go beyond the usual limits of cooking it with onions and sour cream, for example.
They say that German housewives prepare it with sweet and sour apples and onions, thanks to which the liver always turns out juicy and has an original taste.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to cook liver Berlin style.
You will need:
- liver (beef) - 500 g;
- apples - 2 pcs.;
- onion - 2 pcs.;
- flour - 2 tbsp;
- salt, pepper to taste
- vegetable oil.
How to cook
1. The liver needs to be washed, veins removed, cut into pieces, and the onion peeled and cut into rings.
2. Take sweet and sour apples. Wash them, remove the core, peel and cut into 5 mm thick slices.
3. Fry the apples on both sides in vegetable oil, when ready, transfer to a plate and fry the onion in the same pan.
4. Bread the prepared liver in flour, fry in a frying pan for about 5 minutes, then add the fried onions and apples.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 10-15 minutes. Enjoy!
