An old family tradition is making dumplings or vareniki in the home kitchen.
In such cases, it is important that the process takes place during pleasant conversation or happy memories, which is impossible if the dough does not stick.
Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told what needs to be added to the dough for vareniki.
You will need:
- flour - 600-650 g;
- salt - 1 tsp;
- water - 190 ml;
- vegetable oil - 60 ml;
- eggs - 2 pcs.;
- potatoes - 1kg;
- onions - 350 g;
- milk - 100 ml;
- butter - 120 g;
- fresh herbs.
How to cook
1. Sift 500 g of flour into a bowl, mix with eggs and add 1 teaspoon of salt.
2. Separately, collect hot water, add vegetable oil, mix and pour into the flour, kneading the dough.
3. When ready, let it sit for 20-30 minutes, and during this time, prepare the filling.
4. Boil the potatoes and mash them with milk and butter. Peel and dice the onion, fry and mix with the potatoes.
5. Roll out the dough, form the dumplings, fill and freeze.
