It’s hard to name a dish in which flavors and textures combine better than in a potato casserole with minced meat.
According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, chef Yulia Arkhipova , the advantages of this dish do not end there, because even the most “inexperienced” chef can handle its preparation.
We offer you a list of ingredients and detailed instructions for preparing potato casserole with minced meat. You will need:
- 1.2-1.4 kg potatoes;
- 0.5 kg minced meat;
- 200-250 g onions;
- 3-4 cloves of garlic;
- 50 g butter;
- 1 egg;
- 100 g cheese;
- salt – to taste;
- vegetable oil – for frying.
The potatoes need to be peeled, cut into pieces and put to boil. There is no need to salt the water.
While the tubers are boiling, take care of the other ingredients. Finely chopped onion should be fried with vegetable oil until soft and golden, after which you need to add minced meat to the pan, about 0.5 teaspoon of salt and chopped garlic.
Fry the minced meat until done, and then you can turn off the stove.
By this time the potatoes should be cooked, so drain them, add butter and salt and mash them.
When the puree has cooled, beat the egg into it and mix. Now everything is ready to assemble the casserole.
Place half of the mashed potatoes in the pan, then the minced meat, more mashed potatoes, and a layer of grated cheese on top.
Cook the casserole in the oven at 200 degrees for about 15-20 minutes.
