What to cook with oatmeal: an unusual recipe - good for Lent or a diet

Oatmeal is very easy to prepare and at the same time brings maximum benefit to the body. The product can be called universal, because from flakes you can make soup or porridge, desserts and even cutlets.

The last option will appeal to anyone who is on a diet or fasting.

Expert of the online publication "BelNovosti" Yulia Arkhipova , a cook and fourth-class baker, told how to cook cutlets from oatmeal.

You will need:

  • oat flakes - 200 g;
  • water - 200 ml;
  • potatoes - 250 g;
  • onion - 1 pc.;
  • garlic to taste;
  • salt and pepper to taste;
  • champignons - 3 pcs.

How to cook

1. Pour boiling water over the flakes for 20 minutes, and in the meantime peel the potatoes and onions. Grate the vegetables on a fine grater.

2. Clean the mushrooms and chop finely.

3. Add grated vegetables, mushrooms, chopped garlic, salt and pepper to taste to the steamed oatmeal, and stir.

4. Next, form the cutlets, fry them in a frying pan or bake them in the oven. Enjoy!
