Potato pancakes will turn out aromatic and unusual in taste if you fry them with a cheese and egg “cap” on top.
To serve this version of "deruny", you will need 6 potatoes, as well as:
- 3 eggs,
- 3 tablespoons of wheat flour,
- 120 g hard cheese,
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise,
- 1 onion,
- 2 cloves of garlic,
- 0.5 teaspoon salt,
- 1 pinch of ground black pepper.
Grate the peeled potatoes on a coarse grater, then add the diced onion to it.
Now the mixture for making potato pancakes needs to be salted and peppered. Beat in 1 egg, mix, then add flour and mix all the ingredients again.
The remaining 2 eggs need to be hard-boiled and cut into small cubes.
Combine them with grated cheese, add chopped garlic, mayonnaise and mix.
The frying process is initially no different from the traditional version: heat up a frying pan with sunflower oil, then place the potato mass on the hot surface and fry until golden, but only on one side.
After this, turn the potato pancakes over and put 1 teaspoon of the cheese and egg mixture on the browned "side". Spread it evenly over the potato "pancake" and continue to cook the potato pancakes under a closed lid for another 5 minutes over medium heat.
