Compote is perhaps the most common way to preserve the pear harvest for the winter.
Today we will share with you another recipe and tell you what berries to add to pears to take the taste of the drink to a new level.
But first things first.
To prepare pear compote, the fruit must be thoroughly washed and placed in a three-liter jar.
In addition to the pears, throw a handful of chokeberries into the container.
These berries have a pleasant sweet and sour, tart taste, but there are few people who like to eat them fresh.
In compote, chokeberry is just the thing: thanks to chokeberry, you can make the compote’s color richer and give it a unique aroma.
Now pour boiling water over the contents of the jar and wait 10 minutes. After the specified time, drain the water, after which the operation is repeated: the berries are again poured with boiling water for 10 minutes.
For the second time, drain the water into a saucepan and add 300 g of sugar. All that remains is to pour the syrup over the fruit and screw the jar shut.
