There are a great many dishes that can be made from pumpkin: cream soup, casserole, mashed potatoes, salads... The list goes on and on.
But did you know that this orange-sided beauty can be used to make jam?
If you answered no, let's hurry to correct this unfortunate omission.
So, for pumpkin jam you will need:
- 1 kg pumpkin pulp;
- 2 lemons;
- 0.5 kg sugar;
- spices (cinnamon and ginger) – to taste.
The pumpkin pulp should be cut into cubes, then sprinkled with sugar, mixed and left in this form for several hours.
Once this step is done, move on to the lemons – they will need to be chopped in a blender to be added to the pumpkin later.
Now put the basin with the valuable contents on the fire and wait until the mass boils. At this stage, it is worth adding spices.
Continue to cook the future jam for half an hour, remembering to stir it from time to time.
All that remains is to spread the pumpkin jam into jars and close with lids.
