It often happens that mint “takes over” not only the area allocated to it, but also the surrounding area.
If you have become a hostage to such a situation, do not rush to get upset - at least, you now have enough raw materials to start making mint jam.
You won’t get such a tasty, and most importantly, aromatic delicacy from any other product.
You will need:
- 250 g mint leaves;
- 2 lemons;
- 1 kg sugar;
- 0.5 l of water.
Mint, like lemons, should be washed thoroughly and then chopped.
Now pour water over the resulting mass, wait until it boils, and, turning the heat to low, cook for 10 minutes.
After this, the future jam can be removed from the heat and left in a cool place for 24 hours.
After 24 hours have passed, the mixture will have to be strained, sugar added to it and cooked until the delicacy thickens.
Store the resulting jam in jars with lids and use it to add to cocktails as a syrup or to make refreshing summer drinks.
