It is very easy to prepare a tasty and crumbly side dish even without the Soviet norm of taking two glasses of water per serving of cereal.

How to cook rice

First, the grains should be thoroughly washed under running cold water. The procedure will have to be repeated several times to remove dust and excess starch.

Then you should pour the cereal into a preheated frying pan with oil.

Fry the grains for about 3 minutes. As soon as the rice starts to change color, you need to pour in a glass of water (you can take 1 glass of water for 1 glass of cereal). You can immediately add salt and spices.

You can fry the onions together with the rice beforehand to give the side dish a more intense taste and aroma.

You can put parchment on top, and then a lid. This will prevent the water from evaporating. Rice is cooked in this state for about 12-17 minutes.

As soon as the porridge is removed from the heat, you need to add a piece of butter to it, and the dish will have to be covered with a lid again for about 10 minutes.

It is advisable to let the saucepan or frying pan sit under a towel for this time.
