It is believed that strawberries are not the best berry for freezing. This statement is true only if the berry is frozen whole.

In addition, there are popular myths that only spoil everything, rather than improve the result. This mainly concerns water and sugar.

Myth #1: Do you need to wash strawberries before freezing?

Many people claim that berries do not need to be washed. Allegedly, excess moisture will spoil the taste and make the berries even more watery after defrosting. But after defrosting, they will still be watery, and if you do not wash them, then the sand will crunch on your teeth.

Therefore, berries need to be washed, even if they appear clean.

To get rid of water, you need to dry the berries on napkins after rinsing.

Myth #2: Strawberries and sugar

Supporters of a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits insist that strawberries should be frozen without sugar. But the fact is that if you freeze strawberry puree or just crushed berries, then in their pure form after defrosting they will lose some of their taste and sugar content.

Granulated sugar or powdered sugar can make up for this deficiency.

To avoid mistakes, take 200 grams of sugar per 1 kilogram of berries. The amount may vary depending on the variety and degree of ripeness of the strawberries.

Myth #3: Packaging

As for packaging, there are no restrictions. Puree or crushed berries are frozen in containers, plastic bottles, and even in sealed bags and ice cube trays.
