Pearl barley porridge is a tasty and very healthy dish that should be included in your diet.
Pearl barley can be prepared very quickly if you know a couple of tricks from experienced cooks.
How to quickly cook pearl barley
First, the grain should be rinsed several times. When the water is clear, it means that all the dust and debris have gone, and therefore the process can continue.
Next, pour three glasses of water into the pan and bring to a boil. As soon as the liquid starts to boil, add a glass of pearl barley. Cook for another 10 minutes after boiling. After that, drain the water.
You need to pour water into the pan again, but this time fresh. Two glasses will be enough. When the water starts to boil, you can add salt, butter and pearl barley.
As soon as everything starts to boil again, it is recommended to reduce the heat to minimum and leave the pan on the stove for another 20 minutes.
When the fire is turned off, do not rush to remove the pan from the stove. It is advisable to let the porridge sit for another 5-7 minutes under the lid.
