Walnuts are good for everyone, but their only drawback is peeling. Some are so difficult to peel that often half of the kernels have to be thrown away along with the shell.
There is one little trick that will save your strength, nerves and time. It turns out that the nuts need to be boiled a little.
So, if cleaning walnuts takes a lot of time, then they need to be boiled in boiling water.
How to cook nuts
1. First, you need to bring to a boil the amount of water that should fit the number of nuts that you have decided to shell.
2. Throw them into boiling water and cook for exactly 4 minutes, then remove them with a slotted spoon or simply throw them into a colander.
3. Wait until they dry and you can start cleaning.
What's the secret?
After boiling, the nut shells become much softer and can be cracked by simply squeezing two nuts in your fist.
You don't even have to hammer and do without other devices. The shell will crack much easier.
And not into small crumbs, but into two halves, which means that it will be much simpler and easier to extract the core.
Experience shows that this method comes in handy when you need to peel a mountain of nuts for baking or other culinary masterpieces.
