If you find a can of fish preserves in the corner of your kitchen cabinet that you forgot about long ago, this is a reason to try making an amazing snack, the recipe for which you will find below.
In addition to one can of preserves (in oil or in its own juice), you will need:
- 3 eggs;
- 1 onion;
- 1 teaspoon mustard;
- 50 g cheese;
- 8-10 slices of bread;
- ground black pepper (to taste).
So, first, put the eggs to boil (they need to be hard-boiled), and in the meantime, take care of the rest of the ingredients.
Peel the onion, rinse it under water and chop it finely. Add a teaspoon of mustard and pour boiling water over it.
After two minutes, drain the water – the onions marinated in this way will give the appetizer a special piquancy.
The bread should be toasted on both sides. This can be done in a toaster or, the old-fashioned way, in a dry frying pan.
Cool the boiled eggs and grate them, then combine with the canned food mashed with a fork and half of the cheese, also grated with a grater.
Mix the resulting mixture and spread it on the bread slices, then sprinkle cheese on top and put it in the oven for a few minutes.
