To make homemade condensed milk you only need two ingredients: milk and sugar.
Please note: to make the dessert really tasty, you should stock up on milk that has a very high fat content.
So, prepare 5 cups of milk and 2.5 cups of sugar and you can get started.
Pour the milk into an enamel saucepan with a thick bottom and place the pan on moderate heat.
After the milk has warmed up slightly, you can start adding sugar. Stir well until the mixture is smooth.
Now it's time to reduce the heat to a minimum and cook, stirring the contents of the pan occasionally.
The future condensed milk should be kept on the fire for about 2-3 hours until the milk mass thickens and turns a creamy-yellowish hue.
Homemade condensed milk should be stored in a jar with a hermetically sealed lid. It is perfect for "accompanying" pancakes and thin crepes, and is also suitable for making creams and various desserts.
