Like many other dishes, chocolate fondant was the result of a mistake: the cook took the muffins out of the oven too early and, when he cut them, discovered that they were still liquid inside.
Despite this, chocolate cupcakes with lava-like filling have become quite popular among those with a sweet tooth.
If you haven't had the chance to try this delicacy yet, don't put it off for too long - make some chocolate fondant in your own kitchen.
To do this you will need:
- 100 g dark chocolate (cocoa content – from 50 to 80%);
- 60 g butter;
- 40 g flour;
- 40 g sugar;
- 2 eggs;
- a pinch of salt.
First, break the chocolate into pieces and combine with butter, then melt them in the microwave or in a water bath. At this stage, it is important not to overheat the mass so that the chocolate does not curdle.
Stir well until the mixture is smooth and cool slightly if it is too hot.
In a separate bowl, break the eggs, add sugar and salt. Mix the ingredients with a mixer, whisk or a regular fork until smooth. You don’t need to beat them too much – just enough for the dry ingredients to dissolve.
Now combine the egg mixture with the butter-chocolate mixture, then sift in the flour. Mix again until smooth, but not too long, otherwise the muffins will come out too dense.
All that's left is to grease the molds with butter and spread the dough over them. Bake the fondant for 7-10 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 degrees.
Serve the muffins immediately while they are still hot. They are especially delicious with ice cream.
