We won’t go into the reasons – we’ll rather tell you how to get out of the situation and get rid of excess salt.

If we are talking about first courses, you will need a regular potato.

Cut it into large pieces and put it in the pot, and after the soup is ready, take it back out. Since it will be difficult to get the boiled potatoes out of the pot, do not hesitate - start the reverse process as soon as the pieces become soft.

In addition, honey can come to the rescue - just add a little of this sweet delicacy to the first course.

If the meat was oversalted, it will have to be put into sour cream while still hot, and then heated in a water bath.

Sour cream should also be added to oversalted mushrooms. Regular water will be a substitute for this product. You can also add more mushrooms to reduce the salt concentration.

Finally, if you oversalt fried or baked fish, you need to add sour cream again.
