It is not always possible to purchase high-quality and tasty lard.
Sellers at the Minsk Komarovsky market told us what to pay attention to when choosing lard, the Zvyazda newspaper reports.
How to choose the right lard
Firstly, the colour is very important: the lard should be snow-white with a pinkish tint.
If there is no pinkish tint or the tint is yellowish, the lard is unlikely to be tasty.
Secondly, you need to pay attention to the thickness of the fat. Ideally, one should be at least 6 cm. It is better not to take fat less than 3 cm thick.
The thickness of the skin is also important; it should be no more than 4 mm.
In addition, the skin must be absolutely clean, without bristles.
