On the Internet you can often find advice that is designed to make life easier for any housewife.
But here’s the problem – these recommendations don’t always work in real life.
For example, preparing vegetables for salads and other dishes in a microwave oven in three minutes causes genuine bewilderment.
Is it really possible to put a whole beet in the microwave and then, a few minutes later, take out a ready-made ingredient for vinaigrette?
It turns out yes. The only condition is that a large root vegetable should be cut into smaller slices, but with carrots or potatoes such manipulations will be unnecessary.
Feel free to place the vegetables on a plate and then microwave them, but be sure to cover them with a triple layer of damp paper towels.
You can do this by placing paper towels on top and spraying them with water from a spray bottle.
The vegetables will need between 2 and 9 minutes to reach the desired consistency.
