Many parents react inappropriately to their children's crying.
It is bad if mom and dad immediately demand that an upset or frightened child stop crying.
"Don't cry!", "Stop crying immediately!", "Stop crying!", "Calm down right now!"
Remember: all these phrases are very dangerous. The child should not hear them from you.
The thing is that the above-mentioned remarks mean one thing: the child is required to stop showing emotions. And this is very dangerous for the child's psyche.
But what to do if the baby starts crying? Especially if he does it in public?
You can't just ignore the situation. But you can and should use the phrases listed below.
"What happened? I want to know why you're crying."
Ask your child to tell you the reasons for crying.
Don't yell at your baby, don't scold him, and don't demand that he stop crying. Speak calmly.
"Come to me when you're ready to tell me everything."
Is your child crying so much that he can’t really explain anything?
Or maybe the child doesn’t even try to speak?
Then tell him that you are there for him and are ready to listen to him at any time.
The phrase is truly life-saving: it gives the child the right to "splash out" emotions. The most interesting thing is that the baby will most likely calm down quite quickly.
"I understand you"
Did your child tell you why he or she is crying? Be sure to hug the child and tell him or her that you understand how he or she feels.
