Is your child afraid of doctors and injections? Do not scold him for this under any circumstances!
It's better to help your child overcome his fear.
To do this, you need to follow a few simple recommendations.
Don't lie to the baby
The phrase "It doesn't hurt at all" is redundant.
After all, the child will soon understand that the sensations during the injection are quite painful.
Don't want your child to stop trusting you? Then don't lie to him!
Tell the truth: "It will hurt a little, but the doctor has to give you an injection, because it is important for your health." But you shouldn't scare the baby either.
Don't forget about your upcoming visit to the doctor
Did you warn the baby that he would be given an injection in a few days?
Try not to remember this too much. Otherwise, the child will only worry more.
Incentives
Promise your child something nice. For example, "I'll buy you a toy after you get your shot."
This will make it easier for your child to cope with fear.
What to do when your child is hysterical
Has your baby started crying and screaming? Just look into the child's eyes.
Maintaining eye contact is very important. The baby should not feel that he is being "abandoned".
Smile and praise
Did your child get a shot? Be sure to smile at the baby! Even if the child cried, screamed, panicked and demonstrated bad behavior.
A smile is a “signal” for a baby: “Well done, you held out!”
Don't forget to praise your child verbally.
