Why do beige moms choose exactly this for decorating rooms, clothes, toys and other things? In their opinion, subdued colors and minimalist aesthetics help create a calm and cozy atmosphere for children.
Driven by this goal, beige moms strive to eliminate visual noise and create a harmonious and structured environment for their baby.
What's the downside of this approach? Those who criticize beige motherhood say that children surrounded by monochromatic objects can grow up sad and joyless, since bright colors are needed for the development of children and their emotional well-being.
Environmental design psychologist Sally Augustine echoes these concerns, saying a muted palette doesn't meet children's developmental needs for bright, stimulating colours.
