What to do if a child complains about something: a phrase that parents should say

Children quite often complain to their parents about something.

Sometimes kids just snitch, act up, and exaggerate difficulties. But often, complaints from a child are completely justified.

Therefore, it is impossible to ignore such requests from a son or daughter.

But you need to immediately find out what the child's goal is. Perhaps the baby really needs help. But it is possible that the child just wants to talk.

A Question Parents Should Ask

Has your child started complaining? Say this phrase right away: “Do you need specific help, or do you just want to vent?”

This direct question will help you immediately understand your baby’s mood and intentions.

Most likely, the boy or girl's answer will be specific. If the child wants help or advice, he or she will say so right away. And it will be easier for the parents: it will immediately become clear what needs to be done.

But another option is not excluded. Perhaps the child will honestly admit that he just needs a "listener" and does not need help.

You shouldn't ignore your child's complaints in this case either. Let your child speak out. It's important for him to talk about his problems and share his opinion with his mom and dad.
