No "bunnies" or "sunshines": why a child should be called only by name

Many parents come up with affectionate nicknames for their children.

Moms and dads can address the baby as follows: "Sunshine", "Bunny", "Doll", "Baby doll", "Star". There are many other similar options.

It would seem that there is nothing scary in such “names”.

Moreover, parents are sure that by naming their child this way, they are showing love and affection.

In fact, you should address the baby by name.

Why are the words "bunny" and "sunshine" dangerous?

These seemingly harmless nicknames deprive children of their individuality.

A child who is rarely called by name begins to consider himself a "toy."

The baby may feel that mom and dad do not take him seriously and do not see him as an individual.

Parents should not forget about such consequences. There is no need to turn a son or daughter into a "bunny".

However, you don't need to completely give up on sweet words. You just need to use them wisely.

So, it is desirable that affectionate epithets are combined with the name. For example, "Our beloved Nastya" or "Our handsome Lesha".
